Context
Pëlago Live is a night of live music at Badhuspaviljongen in the heart of Mariehamn, Åland. Each summer it brings artists from Åland and Sweden to one place, from the opening acts to the afterhours, and the website is where most people first meet the lineup and buy their ticket.
Problem
A festival site has a short, intense life. It has to build anticipation as artists are announced, make the lineup easy to scan on a phone, and get people to a ticket in as few steps as possible. Tickets are sold through Kide.app, so the site itself had to carry the mood and the information, then hand visitors over cleanly.
Solution
I designed and built the site as a custom React and Vite app: a run of full-screen slides that snap from one to the next. Headliners get a slide each with a full-bleed portrait, then the lineup is split into opening, main and afterhours on the festival's blue, yellow and red, every artist tagged with where they're from. A short “What is Pëlago?” slide explains the night, and a ticket wall of tumbling wristbands and textured 3D letters leads on to Kide.app, with a ticket link on every slide along the way.
Outcome
One link that does the work of a poster, a programme and a box office. The lineup reads at a glance on any screen, every slide is a tap away from a ticket, and the motion gives the night its energy before anyone is through the door.
